Overcurrent or Short Circuit
The drive has detected excessive current flow through one or more output phases that exceeds the programmed current limit or hardware protection threshold. This fault activates when instantaneous current exceeds 200% of rated drive current or when sustained overcurrent above 110% of rated current persists for more than the programmed time delay.

Fault code F0002 displayed with overcurrent trip indication showing affected phase identification
Drive trips immediately upon acceleration with motor achieving only 10-20% of target speed
Output current display shows asymmetrical loading with one phase significantly higher than others
IGBT temperature alarm concurrent with overcurrent fault indicating thermal stress on power modules
Motor produces abnormal noise and vibration before drive trips on overcurrent protection
Frequent nuisance tripping during load transients or direction reversals under normal operation
Mechanical overload condition with driven equipment requiring torque exceeding motor rating by 20% or more
Single-phase motor winding failure causing unbalanced currents and apparent overcurrent in healthy phases
Incorrect acceleration/deceleration time settings causing excessive current during speed transitions
Motor parameters incorrectly programmed resulting in improper V/Hz ratio and magnetizing current
Worn motor bearings creating mechanical binding and increased load torque requirements
Faulty current transformer or Hall effect sensor providing incorrect feedback to drive control circuits
Perform lockout/tagout on electrical supply and mechanical coupling to driven equipment
Measure actual load requirements using power analyzer and compare to motor nameplate ratings
Test motor windings for resistance balance and insulation integrity using precision instruments
Review and optimize acceleration/deceleration parameters based on load inertia calculations
Verify motor parameter settings including rated current, voltage, frequency and power factor in drive memory
Calibrate current sensing circuits using precision current injection equipment and verify accuracy within ±2%
Conduct full load test with gradual ramp-up while monitoring all three phase currents and thermal conditions over extended operation period
Safety First: Always isolate power and follow LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures before working on electrical components. If unsure, contact a certified repair technician.
