Display Backlight Failure
The LCD backlight system fails to illuminate the display panel, causing the screen to appear dark or completely black while the HMI remains operational. This occurs when the backlight inverter circuit fails to provide the necessary high-voltage AC power to the CCFL tubes or LED array, making the display unreadable despite normal system function.

Check inverter output with high-voltage probe: should read 600-1000VAC RMS at CCFL connectors
Replace failed backlight inverter board (P/N varies by model) ensuring proper cable routing and connection
Test CCFL tubes individually with lamp tester or substitute known good tubes if inverter tests normal
Reassemble unit, apply power, and verify full brightness range adjustment through HMI setup menu
