DC Link Undervoltage
The DC link voltage has dropped below the minimum threshold required for proper inverter operation, typically below 80% of nominal value. This fault occurs when the DC bus capacitors cannot maintain sufficient voltage to support the IGBT switching operations, causing the drive to enter a protective shutdown state to prevent damage to power semiconductors.

Drive displays fault code F0001 or similar DC undervoltage alarm on HMI panel
Red fault LED illuminated on control board with status LED flashing 3 times repeatedly
Motor decelerates uncontrollably or stops abruptly during operation
DC bus voltage measurement shows readings below 510VDC on 480VAC input drives
Audible clicking from main contactors cycling on/off every 2-3 seconds
Drive fails to start with immediate fault upon run command activation
Aging electrolytic DC bus capacitors with ESR above 50 milliohms causing voltage droop under load
Input voltage sag below 10% of nominal supply voltage due to utility or transformer issues
Faulty input rectifier bridge diodes showing reverse leakage current above 5mA
Loose or corroded AC input connections creating voltage drop exceeding 3% of line voltage
Internal pre-charge circuit failure preventing proper DC bus charging through limiting resistors
Defective DC bus voltage sensing circuit on control board providing false low voltage readings
Implement lockout/tagout procedures on incoming AC supply and verify zero energy state using calibrated multimeter
Measure AC input voltage at drive terminals under load conditions and verify within ±10% of nameplate rating
Test DC bus capacitors with ESR meter - replace if ESR exceeds manufacturer specifications or capacitance below 80% rated value
Inspect and torque all AC input terminal connections to manufacturer specifications using calibrated torque wrench
Test input rectifier diodes using diode test function on multimeter - replace bridge assembly if any diode shows excessive leakage
Verify pre-charge circuit operation by monitoring DC bus voltage rise time during startup sequence
Perform final operational test under rated load conditions and document DC bus voltage stability over 30-minute run cycle
Safety First: Always isolate power and follow LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures before working on electrical components. If unsure, contact a certified repair technician.
